A vineyard in Bordeaux city
Château Picque Caillou
A close neighbour of the prestigious Haut-Brion and Pape Clément châteaux, this 26-hectare vineyard carries in its name an indication of its terroir, the pebbly soils that originated from sediments deposited by the nearby Garonne river over thousands of years.
Once the very heart of the Bordeaux vineyard, the “Graves de Bordeaux” used to surround the city. Picque Caillou today remains one of the last bastions standing up to an all-consuming urban development that holds no respect for soils or history.
